Lost Weekend Video
THe Mission’s most happenin’ video store

Hey everybody!
Welcome to our website. It may not be the most sophisticated site in the world, so please have patience. As of July 2011, we finally have our catalogue available online. It’s imperfect and will only be updated occasionally, so if you’re looking for a specific film and don’t see it, the most efficient way is to call us.
The site mostly serves as a place to find general information and as an archive of our weekly email / blog postings about the new stuff arriving in the store. It goes back months, so if you’re dying for a dose of my quick wit, feel free to have a browse. For those with an interest in our long and storied history, the ‘Scoop’ breaks it down for you. Also, please check out the links page as it’s the best way to keep up on our staff’s non-video store creative activities. I’ve also put up links to some of our pals in the neighborhood. We encourage you to shop locally, especially in these difficult economic times. Help keep the Mission a vibrant and eclectic place to live and shop! Lastly, please support your local video store, whether it’s us or one of San Francisco’s other great indies, Faye’s, Le Video, Video Wave, etc. Remember, Netflix doesn’t give your dog treats. Please help keep the tradition of the neighborhood video store alive.
Thanks!
The Gang at Lost Weekend
T-Shirts that we’ve had over the years designed by Maria Forde, Jesse Steinchen & Scott Bradley. Unfortunately, they’re all currently unavailable, but we hope to have more soon!
Cinecave Open!
The Mission’s first members-only Cineclub is open for action! Thanks to the generous friends who threw down for our Kickstarter campaign, the store regulars who volunteered to paint chairs & move shelves and the hard-working staff who chipped in extra hours to get things done, our cramped little basement has been turned into a mini movie palace. Movies & comedy almost every night of the week. The ‘Cave is also available for rent for private parties - birthdays, hen parties, craft-ins, poker nights, Rock Band marathons, karaoke, office celebrations, Dungeons & Dragons fests, etc. Come down or call for more info.
Serious comedy in the ‘Cave!
We’re pleased to announce that Lost Weekend is now presenting live stand-up comedy every weekend in the Cinecave. George Chen & Kevin O’Shea host The Cynic Cave‘ every Saturday at 8pm. All shows are $10 and feature about a half dozen comics, so that’s some serious yuks for your bucks. First Fridays George Chen & Anna Seregina host ‘Talkies’ - a multimedia stand-up comedy/short film show. On second Fridays, Andre Parker presents ‘Fresh Like Cadaver’ a live stand-up and movie riffing show. Have a few laughs, then watch a classic genre flick while four comics provide live commentary (a la MST3000). Moves & comedy all in one - what could be better? Every Thursday is ‘Mission Position Live’, a bring-your-own-baggage comedy show about sex, culture & everything. It’s the cheapest date in town! Details on which comics are performing on which nights are on the Cinecave page here or you can “like” Lost Weekend or The Cynic Cave on Facebook (remember to tell FB that you want to receive notifications from us, though. Hover over “liked” on our page & choose it from the drop down menu).
Come down and find out why the Cinecave is fast becoming every comic’s favorite spot for stand-up in SF. There’s limited seating, so call the store to reserve a seat.
